Wendy joined The Nationals WA parliamentary team in 2008. She represented the Agricultural Region and the Mining and Pastoral Region in the Legislative Council and now currently holds the seat of Kalgoorlie in the Legislative Assembly.
She has spent most of her life in life in the mining, pastoral and agricultural areas of the Goldfields and Esperance, having been born and raised on a Goldfields pastoral station, and holds the distinction, with her siblings, of being some of the first to be educated through the School of the Air in Kalgoorlie.
She has worked for The National Farmers' Federation in Canberra; as a Local Government Project Manager and Strategic Planner; and Company Executive Officer to small businesses and agricultural ventures.
Wendy was the first female President of The Nationals WA and in that role was the co-creator of Royalties for Regions. She served as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Regional Development and Lands in the Parliament from 2008-2013 and is presently Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
During her tenure, she worked to improve infrastructure and services in regional communities, including Kalgoorlie and plans to continue rolling out Royalties for Regions in her new role in the Legislative Assembly as the Member for Kalgoorlie.
She is married to Ian and has four children - Kat, Anna, Elise and James.
